Settlers Ridge is a 1,300-acre planned community that incorporates a traditional neighborhood development of 2,470 mixed residential homes, neighborhood parks, commercial development, elementary school, community center and central park. Approximately forty percent (526 acres) of the development has been or will be restored to a native prairie habitat. The community is designed to encourage walking, bicycling, and interaction among residents by integrating an extensive trail system to parks, schools, churches and commercial areas.
Hitchcock Design Group was the landscape architect responsible for the design and documentation of all landscape improvements within the 540-acre, Phase I development. Key features of this work include entry monuments, vehicular bridges, a pedestrian bridge, eight neighborhood parks, a community park, clubhouse, natural areas, multi-use trails, and habitat areas.
