Downtown Long Grove Master Plan |
Village leaders recognize the importance to revitalize historic downtown Long Grove in order to remain competitive in a rapidly changing marketplace. Part of that redevelopment requires additional investment in public infrastructure and pedestrian amenities in order to improve visitor hospitality. However, prior to committing valuable resources to infrastructure, community leaders have wisely decided to take a brief step back in order to correlate anticipated infrastructure improvements with fundamental land use, business retention and recruitment, mobility, and public relations considerations. As a result, the Village has retained the regionally recognized team of ESI Consultants, Hitchcock Design Group, and Business Districts Inc. to update the previously completed Downtown Master Plan. In addition to the Master Plan update, the team will also create guidelines for both public and private sector improvements and develop a series of wayfinding graphics to help visitors navigate the downtown. Selected public improvements may be implemented shortly thereafter.
You are invited to help the consultant team and Village by sharing your thoughts and recommendations for the Downtown Master Plan. Your thoughtful input will provide critical background and opinions to the consultant team as they advance the master plan process.
