Oconomowoc Downtown Waterfront Master Plan and Parking Solutions

Project Overview
Last year, Governor Doyle announced the Wisconsin Waterfront Initiative, which is intended to help cities like Oconomowoc by giving them additional resources and streamlining permit requirements. In response to this initiative, City leaders have engaged Hitchcock Design Group (in association with Business Districts, Inc., Ken Saiki Design, MSA-PS, and Walker Parking Solutions), a regionally recognized team of planners, designers, engineers and market economics experts, to begin a process intended to help Downtown Oconomowoc become a place that makes the most of its location, waterfront, parking assets, public facilities and circumstances.

The Downtown Waterfront Master Plan and Parking Solutions includes, approximately, the area from Fowler Lake south to the railroad tracks and from Church Street east to Walnut Street. When complete, this plan will identify the location, scale, character and potential costs of a lively, public waterfront promenade; the potential for market supported property redevelopment; connectivity between the downtown and the waterfront; and potential locations, types, sizes, character, costs and management of public parking facilities that will support the downtown and waterfront. The Final Master Plan will include step by step public policy, public improvement, financing, developer recruitment, promotion and organizational implementation recommendations.

You are invited to help the consultant team and City by sharing your thoughts and recommendations for the Downtown Waterfront Master Plan and Parking Solutions. Your thoughtful input will provide critical background and opinions to the consultant team as they advance the master plan process.
