What is a Master Plan?

A  Master Plan is a document that provides recommendations for development over a set period of time. The Northbrook Park District Master Plan Update will:

Assess existing properties, facilities, services, and operations

Determine community sentiment about existing properties, facilities, services, and operations

Recognize Department needs as identified by the community

Define strategic and measurable goals for the next ten years

Why is the Park District updating its Master Plan?

Northbrook Park District is halfway through its 2016-2026 comprehensive master plan and is seeking to understand how resident’s views and use ot its park and recreation offerings has evolved over the past five years. The Park District will also be reassessing it’s current offerings and resources, including items that have been implemented as a result of the master plan recommendations. This information will be used to help the park district prioritize additional improvements over the next 5 years.

Who can contribute to the plan?

Everyone! Residents, stakeholders, and employees can attend the community meeting and complete the online survey. We thank you for your input!

What happens to the information I share?

Your responses will remain anonymous and will be grouped accordingly with all other solicited responses collected during the Connect Phase. These responses will be used to develop the strategies that will guide future actions.

When will the Master Plan be completed?

The plan is scheduled to be published in November of 2021. Check the NPD website for additional information as the plan is developed.
