The American Center District Master Plan

The HDG team was engaged by American Family Insurance to develop a master plan for underutilized parcels of land within The American Center. The end result was a new District Master Plan to position the property in a way that re-imagines the corporate office park into a walkable, dense business community focused on a highly-programmed green space that will become the focal point for the remainder of the campus.

In addition to the overall master plan, the design team created conceptual designs for the green space and has refined TAC’s tightly controlled design guidelines to reflect best practices in sustainability, landscape, architecture, and site planning. Even before the conclusion of the master planning process, developers and institutional partners have taken notice of the change, with proposals for new buildings around the Green and a new medical campus that will serve as the northern gateway into the District.
