The Meadows and The Courtyard Apartment Homes

Located in Lee’s Summit, John Knox Village is a well-established 400-acre life plan community that serves the greater Kansas City metro area. Since 1970, “The Village” has focused on providing residents with a full continuum of long-term healthcare services. In an effort to meet the changing needs of its clients, John Knox Village undertook a major campus redevelopment which resulted in the construction of The Meadows and The Courtyards Apartment homes. These facilities are just phase one of the campus redevelopment plan and will add 160 independent living apartments. The redevelopment also calls for expanded amenities and services for residents, which included improvements to common areas such as dining venues, the fitness center, the movie theater, the indoor pool, and salon. Outdoor enhancements included an outdoor patio with fireplace, grill stations, a water feature and overhead trellis structure. Special attention was also given to the building foundation plantings, the parking lot landscape and connections to the existing campus.

“One of Hitchcock’s strengths is the amount of work they put in when they’re getting to know a community. They show you they really understand the issues your community is considering. They’re very thorough in their approach. It’s clear they’ve done their homework.”
