Bartholomew County Public Library

The Batholomew County Public Library Foundation commissioned the design team to update the I.M. Pei designed library plaza. A number of ongoing maintenance issues needed to be addressed, as well as improving the plaza to provide better accessibility and solve drainage issues. The team coordinated with Pei Cobb Freed on the new design to ensure that the original design intent of this iconic space was maintained. A new plaza was created which connects the library with the adjacent Columbus Visitor’s Center, and a re-designed main library entrance steps and ramps add green infrastructure and power for public events on the plaza.
